Behind The Chef
Greetings! My name is Liam and I am a fervent enjoyer of all things food. The art, the history, the science, the impact on health, etc. I am a self-taught chef who has been blessed to work in myriad restaurant and kitchen settings. My experience encompasses working in bakeries, luxury retirement communities, being a private chef and culinary instructor, as well as attaining my masters in food science from North Carolina State University to work for one of the largest privately held food companies in the world.
Outside The Kitchen
Growing up, I was a decent athlete. From the ages of 8-19 I mostly spent my time playing Ice Hockey. My junior and senior year of Highschool, I also ran track and field as a mid-distance runner.
After graduation, I shifted my athletic prowess to weightlifting (specifically competitive powerlifting) and am now trying to pick up new skills such as Boxing and getting back into Hockey.
As someone who has played sports their entire life, I am fully aware of how integral a good nutrition plan is to perform at your best.
Outside the Gym
As you could maybe guess, I am a HUGE foodie. Most of my favorite extracurricular activities encompass trying out new restaurants (the photo was taken at RH Rooftop in Raleigh, NC), coffee shops and bakeries.
As well as traveling when possible, watching inordinate amounts of TV with my girlfriend Michelle, and spending time with my friends and family.
